Like a lot of couples in Santa Barbara, Peter and I met here at a local restaurant/bar called Q'S. At that time, it was a new place in town that had billiards, bars, sushi, and later in the evening after dinner had been cleared, the dinner area turned into a dance floor.  I had decided to come home from college to visit my mom and family and we went out to dinner at Q's and decided to stay for some dancing.  I looked over and to my surprise, there Peter stood.  I leaned over to my mom and said, "Oh my gosh, I just saw the most handsome man I have ever seen in my whole life".  She suggested I go ask him to dance, which I would normally never have done.  And before I knew it, I was walking across the dance floor standing right in front of him and asked him to dance.  I was so nervous and couldn't believe I was doing it; however I didn't want to walk away and never see him again, so I just went for it.  What I didn't know at the time was I had just walked up to the one guy in the entire three story establishment that absolutely did not dance, not for any reason not on any occasion. And yet before I could finish my sentence he said yes and off to the middle of the dance floor we went.  Luckily it was a slower song so it was romantic and we were able to be dance closely without too much movement required. :)  We had a wonderful time dancing together that night and to this day I can count on one hand how many times we have danced together; however whenever I can get him out there, we have the very best time. Once the dancing came to an end, we hung out for the rest of the night together with my mom... which has always made me giggle because how often do you meet your future mother in law on our very first date...:) Peter invited me to go out again the next night since I had to go back to Pepperdine that Sunday for school and we had a great time, little did we know then that over ten years later we would be getting ready ot walk down the aisle together more in love than ever, ever before. Thanks Mom and Q's for connecting me with the man of my dreams! :)
