Some of the proposal was carefully planned, some fully improvised! I knew that I was going to do it during our trip to Europe last August. I knew where to hide the ring, what to say and what to do when the time comes. However, I didn't know when it would happen and in which country (possibilities were Finland, Hungary, Austria or Czech Republic)!  One challenge was getting the ring through airport security in my carry-on luggage without Pam knowing about it! Luckily that went well with no hiccups. In Finland, I had rented a beautiful summer cottage by the lake. We started our evening there with friends sailing through the isles outside Kuopio-city. After we got back to our cabin, the night was warm and the lake was calm so we decided to take a moonlit row on the lake. I could not have asked for a more perfect setting.  Needless to say, as the moment felt perfect, I popped the question, which seemed to come as a surprise for Pam. Luckily she said yes and now we get to share our special day with all of you at our wedding!
