Our Story

Chiharu and Ray met in Northern Japan on the island of Hokkaido. It was a chance meeting that brought them together. Chiharu was working in New Zealand when her former boss sent her message asking her if she wanted to work in his ski lodge in Hokkaido. Ray was in Osaka, Japan finishing up work as a bartender at a foreign owned night club when word came his way about a job opening at a ski lodge in Hokkaido.

On December 13th, Ray made his way up to Niseko, Japan in Hokkaido. Chiharu who had arrived a week prior was just getting back from an afternoon of snowboarding. It was at the entrance of the lodge where their boss introduced the two of them. He comically said Chiharu this is your new boyfriend Ray. To his surprise, they got engaged just a few months later.
