Hello there - so you're on our page and its about as new a deal to me as it probably is to you, and many beloved friends and family members will likely miss this little gem but no matter. I've stayed on-line here long enough this fine summer sunday creating it for you so please enjoy, comment and pass it on - and thank you for stepping in here and sharing in our anticipation and joy for the special day ahead on August 14th.

"Charlie" was many things in his life, but to us he is the reason we are together. Scott and I both knew Charlie, who after a lifetime on San Francisco's Nob Hill and mover-and-shaker in the Financial District there with a seat in the PSE "retired" to the Sacramento area. Its there he met Scott who was living in Fair Oaks/Sac Area at the time. As they became close friends, Charlie made one of his famous "referrals" to me and called me to let me know he was handing out my phone number to this wonderful eligible batchelor, named Scott Hirsch. Now Charlie is first and foremost a man with a heart of gold, but he is also a deal-maker - a driven one. He puts deals together that win - and he knew we were destined for each other and advanced in his years, so with urgency he made our "connection" and my phone number got to this guy "Scott", who did call me, and who started a series of phonecalls to me that led us both to the fateful decision to meet in person in Pacifica, CA and see if this "deal" had legs. (His are prettier than mine, turns out). Well - the rest is history and after majorly being urged to "snap him up" by my then-ten year old, the rest is history!

Charlie was scheduled to give me away but we did not do it fast enough - with deep regret and sadness I share that he passed away March 14th 2011. With great grace and aplomb, I will be escorted down the aisle by Scott's step father, John Zellhoefer and I am so deeply and lovingly thankful for his kindness.

Our love story started with Scott in Sac, but quickly moved him up to 5,000+ feet (which happens to be snow line). The girls, on the other hand, were dug-in down at sea level in Pacifica, where they'd made a nice home since Julia was 2years old after leaving San Francisco, where Julia was born and Colleen had lived for 10 years.

And so it started - "the cabin" with the red truck - aka the "Threven" --- and then the "litttle green house by the sea" where Julia's every childhood memory had been grounded. And then, over time add in SWEETBRIAR every summer and our family photo album started to fill with smiles, smiles and more smiles from Mt Shasta to Tahoe to the shores just south of Great San Francisco!

Scott's cabin is snug and historic - built in the 1930's with walls 5 feet thick - his Sweetbriar memories drove his dreams and he made a home in the mountains and named it and loved it and improved it. We adore it there and as Julia graduates from Terra Nova High School in May 2012 and enrolls in college - TBA - this will be our home together, and his again - God Willing! There's a pic of it with the signature RED truck that now graces my driveway in Pacifica!

There is a pic that is one of my favorites, because how DO you fit a Mastiff in a little beach house WITH 3 other dogs, 2 adults and a (gorgeous) 6ft tall teenager? The answer is...very very thoughtfully and with tons of love. And tolernace. (There's really no where to run after she has a big drink and shakes her head...cept maybe for a towel). We love out pups!!
